Product Life Cycle and Operations
Throughout NI facilities and the entire product life cycle, we consistently work toward our long-term goal to reduce our environmental footprint and create a better world for employees, customers, and fellow global citizens. Through initiatives such as innovative product design, supplier compliance, and campus-wide recycling, we work to maximize the positive effects of our business and improve the world around us.

Product Design and Life Cycle
Reducing our environmental impact begins with the way we design our products. Throughout the past several years, we have worked to improve product development and manufacturing processes to offer customers more environmentally friendly products. We continually monitor and interpret environmental requirements, remove harmful substances from existing products, and prohibit the introduction of known harmful substances into new products.

Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations
To accomplish our environmental commitments and goals, we partner with a supply chain that is as equally committed to being a good corporate citizen. Suppliers sign the NI Supplier Code of Conduct as an acknowledgement of compliance. Internally, our manufacturing operations team maintains an environmental management system that complies with all applicable environmental regulations. This system helps us prevent pollution and continually improves environmental performance through regular reviews of environmental goals, objectives, and targets.

Facilities and IT
We have three primary objectives for reducing the environmental footprint of our facilities and IT infrastructure: conserving water, reducing energy consumption, and increasing recycling. One way we meet these objectives is through the design of our corporate headquarters. Developed in the early 1990s, the NI campus features an award-winning natural landscape design that preserves the natural habitat, minimizes water usage, and provides a park-like setting.
