Overview

National Instruments offers open PC-based hardware and software that support both NI and third-party hardware platforms. Industrial PCs offer a good platform to deploy a wide range of analog, digital, motion, vision, and reconfigurable I/O (RIO) applications. Industrial PCs are available from a wide range of vendors and offer PC-based technology in a more rugged form factor than desktop PCs. For applications requiring real-time determinism, National Instruments LabVIEW Real-Time supports certain third-party industrial PCs.

For industrial applications requiring defined cooling, high-powered modules, integrated backplane synchronization, or real-time support, PXI offers an open, multivendor, PC-based platform.
