Begin building your NI Switch Executive application by expanding the Devices and Interfaces tab under My System in Measurement & Automation Explorer. Right-click on NI Switch Executive Virtual Devices and select Create New. In the window that appears, name the virtual device and choose which switches you want to include in your configuration. If the device was created and configured at another location and you can locate the configuration file, right-click on NI Switch Executive Virtual Devices and choose the Import option. You can pick the appropriate configuration file by browsing to it. NI Switch Executive configuration files have an .xml extension.
